The short version. LAMP has no accounts and asks for no name, no email and no sign-in. What you write stays on your own device. One thing is sent to us, once: the language you choose. Nothing else, ever, unless you ask for it.
What stays on your device
All of this is kept on the device you are using and nowhere else. We cannot see any of it:
- Prayers you write, and any changes you make to the prayers already there
- The intention you write before the Rosary, and your dedication
- Reflections you write beside the readings
- The times you set for each bead, the bells, and the days of a novena you have marked
- Your colours, your text size, light or dark, and the wording of the Hail Mary
- Your favourites, and the names of anyone else praying on the same device
It is removed if you clear this site’s data in your browser, or uninstall the app. There is no copy anywhere else for us to delete.
The one thing LAMP sends
The first time you open LAMP it asks which language you pray in. Your answer — that language, and nothing else — is sent to us once.
It carries no name, no account, no identifier and no cookie. There is nothing in it that could tell one device from another, join it to another visit, or say it was you. All we hold is a count: how many devices have chosen each language.
We use it for one purpose: to know which languages people are praying in, and so which to translate next.
It is sent once and never again. It is not retried, so if you are offline when you first open LAMP it is never sent at all. Because the count cannot be traced to any device, there is nothing in it for us to find, change or delete on request.
Things that leave only when you ask
- Send to another device and Email to my phone send your prayers to the address you type. You choose the recipient; it goes nowhere else.
- Listen, the hands-free control, is off until you turn it on. While it is on, what you say is sent to be recognised by whoever made your browser — Google, Apple or Microsoft — and their privacy policy covers that, not this one. LAMP does not keep what you said.
- Read aloud does not leave the device. LAMP speaks with your device’s own voice. Where a device has no voice for your language the button does not appear, rather than sending your words away to be read.
- Open the readings opens Universalis in a new tab. That is their website, under their own privacy policy.
What LAMP does not do
- No accounts, no sign-in, no password
- No cookies
- No advertising, and nothing is sold or shared with anybody
- No analytics, no tracking, no profile of how you pray or how often
- Nothing at all is loaded from any other company — no outside fonts, no outside scripts. Every picture, every prayer and the typeface itself are inside the app
The web server
LAMP is served by Netlify. Like every web server on earth, theirs records the ordinary details of a request — the address asked for, the time, the kind of browser, and the internet address it came from — because it cannot answer without them. We do not use those records to identify anybody, and we do not combine them with anything else. Netlify’s own privacy policy covers how long they keep them.
Children
LAMP collects nothing from anybody, and so collects nothing from children. There is no account to create, nothing to sign up to, and nothing a child could disclose to us.
Your rights
There is no personal information held about you to see, correct, export or erase, because none is collected. What you have written is yours, on your own device: you can read it, change it, export it with Save a backup, and delete it at any time without asking us.
If this changes
If LAMP ever sends anything more than it sends today, this page will say so before it does, and the app will say so in Who owns what in the Menu. The date below will change with it.
